GMR Infrastructure on Thursday reported a multi-fold jump in standalone net loss at Rs 123.1 crore for the first quarter ended June 2016.

The GMR Group also owns and operates Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport as well as Hyderabad airport.

GMR Infrastructure gained over 5 per cent on Monday, recovering from the 15 per cent crash the stock witnessed on Friday. Traders attributed Monday's rally to media reports which said that a clutch of private equity firms and Canada's Fairfax Financial Holdings may buy 30 per cent stake in the company's airport business.

Lanco Infratech shares jumped 20 per cent on Tuesday, a day after the Delhi-based infra developer reported its first profit in three years. Lanco Infra's Q2 consolidated net profit of Rs 99 crore was aided by tax reimbursements and favourable power tariff order, the company said.

GMR Infrastructure on Thursday said the Andhra Pradesh High Court has allowed collection of tariff at the Hyderabad International Airport, as was collected earlier.

GMR Infrastructure Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) for providing financial assistance to Japanese companies investing in infrastructure projects of the GMR Group.

But shares fell last week due to disappointment that the budget lacked major initiatives for the sector. Still, traders note they still expect new initiatives from the government going forward.
