Gold In Aircraft Toilet Seized

Over three kilograms of gold bars worth Rs 1.64 crore concealed in the toilet of an aeroplane that arrived in Chennai from Dubai was seized at the city airport.

As many as 60 smuggled gold bars valued at Rs 4.21 crore was recovered from the toilet of an aircraft which arrived in Chennai from Dubai, Customs authorities said on Saturday.

Delhi airport customs on Friday seized 1.5 kg gold in the form of paste worth Rs 65.44 lakh from the toilet of an aircraft and arrested one passenger in this connection.

Customs officials have seized unclaimed gold bars worth Rs 2.24 crore concealed in the rear toilet of an Air India aircraft, which arrived here from Dubai.
