Data of 6 Lakh Indians Stolen, Sold on Bot Markets So Far; Around 50 Lakh Users Affected Globally, Study Shows

Around 6 lakh people in India had their data stolen and sold on bot networks, according to a study by NordVPN. The service found that 50 lakh users were affected globally, making India the worst country affected. Meanwhile, the study found stolen logins including those from Google, Microsoft and Facebook accounts on three major bot markets.

Two Google Pixel users have reported hacking instances after they sent their phones to Google’s official partnered store for repair. Both users claim that explicit photos were compromised. One user even claims that a small amount was sent to someone via PayPal. Google says it is investigating these claims.
