Gopinath Munde Nephew

The Parli Assembly seat in Beed district, brought to prominence on Maharashtra's political map by BJP veteran late Gopinath Munde, will again see his daughter Pankaja Munde and nephew Dhananjay Munde lock horns for supremacy in the upcoming state Assembly polls.

Nationalist Congress Party or NCP leader Dhananjay Munde has demanded a probe either by the R&AW or a Supreme Court judge into the death of his uncle and former union minister Gopinath Munde after a cyber expert claimed that the BJP leader was "killed" as he was aware of hacking of electronic voting machines (EVMs) in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

The Congress has declared a third set of candidates on the last day of filing nominations for the Maharashtra assembly elections. The list includes three names which will replace the Congress candidates previously declared as the party's official contenders from the Dhule Rural, Hadapsar and Kinwat seats.
