His family said he had a long-standing dispute with some builders. The victim, identified as 50-year-old Dudhnath Varma was kidnapped in broad daylight from Jay Prakash Hotel, SV Road in Goregaon (E).

With two more arrests, Mumbai Crime Branch claims to have cracked the recent acid attack case in which a 22-year-old woman was injured at Goregaon station.

Three days after a 24-year-old Malwani-based caterer was held in connection with an acid attack on his former female tenant, his mother was arrested for her suspected role in the crime, police said today.

A 22-year-old Mumbai woman suffered burn injuries after a man threw acid on her at Goregaon railway station on Tuesday evening. The victim has been admitted to a private hospital.
