2G: Govt seeks review of verdict questioning policy

The government today moved the Supreme Court questioning its verdict holding the policy of first-come-first-served in 2G spectrum allocation as unconstitutional while cancelling 122 licences saying it has entered into the exclusive domain of the executive and beyond the limits of judicial review.

The government is likely to seek a review of the January 31 Supreme Court verdict that ruled any citizen has the right to seek the prosecution of a public servant, based on charges of corruption. The Supreme Court's verdict was based on a petition filed by Subramanian Swamy.
