Greenpeace India today decided to file an appeal against the order cancelling its registration as a society, terming it as "unjustified" and alleged that the repeated attempts to "muzzle" its voice show government's "unwillingness" to engage in a healthy democratic dialogue.

India has cancelled Greenpeace International's license to operate and gave the group 30 days to close down, citing financial fraud and falsification of data, the environment watchdog said on Friday.

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi today met with members of civil society including Greenpeace activist Priya Pillai, who had a running feud with the NDA government dispensation and expressed solidarity with their struggle.

The Delhi High Court today directed the government to "unblock" foreign contributions to the tune of Rs 1.87 crore received by controversial NGO 'Greenpeace' from its Amsterdam headquarters, saying the ministry showed "no material to restrict access" to the foreign fund.
