Communication Satellite GSAT-11 In Designated Orbit, Says ISRO

The country's heaviest communication satellite GSAT-11 has been placed in its designated geostationary orbit at an altitude of about 36,000 km after four orbit-raising manoeuvres, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said.

Indian Space Research Organisation or ISRO today launched the GSAT-11 satellite also called the "Big Bird ", from the French space port of Kourou in South America. The satellite, launched at 2.07 am IST will help provide satellite-based internet to remote places where cable-based internet cannot reach.
