The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC) has earned more than Rs 63 crore from convenience fee in September, an RTI query revealed.

Levying GST on overseas air tickets violates international norms and also weakens the competitiveness of carriers, IATA chief Alexandre de Juniac said today.

After submission of the details, the airlines would generate GST invoice for the particular travel and that invoice can be used to claim the benefits.

Airlines may be unwilling to pass on the benefits of lower taxes to passengers, a report said.
