A special court today said that it will pronounce the quantum of sentence on Friday for the 24 convicts of the Gulbarg Society massacre in which 69 people, including former Congress MP Ehsan Jafri, were killed.

Counsel for the 24 convicted in the 2002 Gulbarg Society massacre, which left 69 people including former Congress lawmaker Ehsan Jafrey dead, today sought lenient punishment for those guilty by the court which indicated that it will tomorrow decide on the date of pronouncement of the quantum of sentence.

A special court is likely to pronounce the quantum of sentence today for the 24 convicted in the Gulbarg Society massacre in which 69 persons including former Congress lawmaker Ehsan Jafrey were killed during the 2002 Gujarat riots.

A special court in Ahmedabad today adjourned the hearing on the quantum of sentence against 24 people convicted in the Gulbarg massacre case to June 9.
