Karnataka President H D Kumaraswamy hit out at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for allegedly failing to implement key poll guarantees in the state, and yet making tall promises in poll-bound Telangana.

Only three chief ministers -- all from the Congress -- have been able to complete their full five-year term in the history of Karnataka, which saw the H D Kumaraswamy-led coalition government losing the confidence motion in the Assembly on Tuesday after just 14 months in power.

Congress leader Siddaramaiah on Friday rubbished Janata Dal Secular leader H D Kumaraswamy's allegation that he received Rs 20 crore from former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa during the last eight by-polls in the state, saying that he would hang himself if the charges were proved.
