Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) patriarch Parkash Singh Badal on Saturday described the resignation of Harsimrat Kaur Badal from the Union Cabinet as "bold, historic and a principled stand", and said the Akalis could never be a party to anything which harms the interests of farmers.

Punjab government has decided to revive the industry in the historical town of Sri Goindwal Sahib and prepared a comprehensive plan to allot land to industrial giants to set up their units, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today said.
