The process of filing nomination papers of all the wards of 21 Zila Parishads in Haryana would start from tomorrow and continue till 29 December, State Election Commissioner Rajeev Sharma said today.

Buoyed by the Supreme Court verdict upholding a law which fixes minimum educational qualification for candidates contesting panchayat polls, the Haryana government today said it is in favour of holding Panchayat elections at the earliest.

Panchayat elections in Haryana cannot be held till the Supreme Court decides the validity of a law that set mandatory educational qualifications and other criteria for candidates, the top court said today.
