"Human Error" Suspected In Hyderabad Train Collision, Case Registered

The train collision that left 17 people injured in Hyderabad occurred due to "human error" on the part of a loco pilot, railway and police officials said on Tuesday. The driver, who is in a critical condition at a hospital, has been booked on charges that include endangering public safety, they said.

The school children travelling in a van that crashed into a speeding train in Kushinagar today, leading to the death of 13 children, had repeatedly asked the driver of their vehicle to stop but the man did not listen as he was busy on the phone, a nine-year-old, who survived the accident said.

Two people were killed early Wednesday when two freight trains collided head on in Orissa's Keonjhar district, officials said. The trains collided near Tigiriapalli village in the mineral-rich district, police officer Prakash Toppo told IANS from the accident site.
