The Adani Group is in talks to buy the Indian cement operations of Germany's Heidelberg Materials in a deal that could be worth about $1.2 billion, the Economic Times newspaper said on Monday.

Ashoka Pte Ltd on Monday acquired 1 per cent stake in Germany-based HeidelbergCement Group's Indian arm for about Rs 17 crore through an open market transaction.

The board accepted the resignation but requested Mr Guha to continue as CEO & MD of the company till the appointment of a successor, it said.
