Hema Malini's plans to start a dance academy on a plot of land in Mumbai's Andheri area have been described by an RTI activist as "land-grabbing".

"This is the second time Hema Malini has been allotted a prime plot in the Mumbai suburbs. Earlier, in 1997, the (then) Shiv Sena-BJP government had given her a plot of land, but she could not develop it due to CRZ (Coastal Regulation Zone) issues," RTI activist Anil Galgali told IANS

Opposition parties today slammed Maharashtra Government's decision to sanction a piece of land to actress and BJP lawmaker Hema Malini to set up a classical dance school.

Maharashtra's BJP government has sanctioned a 2,000 square metre plot to Bollywood actress-turned-lawmaker Hema Malini to set up a classical dance school, almost 20 years after she had approached the state government for a plot.
