High Alert At Air Bases

Bangladesh leader Sheikh Hasina - who resigned as Prime Minister this evening in the face of violent protests - landed at the Hindon Air Force base in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad Monday evening, en route to London.

Around 25 bases -- mostly in Western Air Command - have been put on high alert, sources told NDTV. This would mean that any person trying to enter a base illegally could be shot.

Maharashtra government has beefed up security at vital installations in Mumbai, places of worship and those frequented by tourists as per instructions from the Union Home ministry after the terror attack at the Pathankot Air base in Punjab.
