Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday urged the Centre to release Rs 1,800 crore for revival of two paper mills in the state and early finalisation of a new industrial policy for the Northeast.

HMT Machine Tools, 10 other sick PSUs get Rs 116 crore for payment of wages, other dues

The government on Thursday provided Rs 116.86 crore to eleven sick public sector units (PSUs), including HMT Machine Tools, towards payment of wages and other dues. The decision to provide funds to the PSUs was taken by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA).
