As violence spread to more areas in Haryana over the Jat quota agitation, curfew was clamped in Jind, Hisar and Hansi districts.

Jats, who are seeking quotas in government jobs, are likely to intensify their agitation after the Haryana government refused to release nearly 100 leaders of the community who were arrested for violent protests.

The agitating Jats, demanding job quota for them, on Thursday, served an ultimatum asking Haryana government to unconditionally release by tomorrow all those who had been taken into custody during the movement.

Rail services remained paralysed while buses were off the roads. District administration had yesterday ordered closure of all educational institutions for three days.
