Drug firm Hetero on Monday launched a biosimilar of 'Bevacizumab', used in treating metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), under the brand name 'CizumabTM'.

An anti-retroviral drug used to prevent the transmission of HIV from mother to child may have small but significant effects on infant development, a new study has claimed.

Malawi President Peter Mutharika said today the country had received a grant of $332 million (292 million euros) to fight AIDS and other diseases, bringing much-needed support to a nation wrestling with public health problems.

The World Health Organization said on Wednesday that all people with the HIV virus should be given anti-retroviral drugs as soon as possible after diagnosis, meaning 37 million people worldwide should be on treatment.

The drug belongs to a group of anti-viral medicines, also known as anti-retrovirals, and is used with other anti-retroviral medicines to treat HIV infection in adults and children.
