The Delhi High Court has sought the Centre's response on a plea by one of the convicts in 1984 anti-Sikh riots challenging the legality of the Home Ministry's order for setting up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to reinvestigate the cases.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was set up by the government today for fresh investigation into the 1984 anti-Sikh riots cases in Delhi and some other states. An order on setting up of the SIT was issued by the Union Home Ministry this evening, official sources said.
