Kumar Mangalam Birla, the chairman of Aditya Birla Group, delivered the convocation address at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. During the speech, Mr Birla shared his "favourite IIT Bombay joke".

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay conducted 60th Convocation ceremony at its campus today, August 20. In the last two years, IIT Bombay had held its Convocation in virtual reality mode and this is the first physical convocation ceremony since then.

IIT Bombay Convocation: The IIT Bombay’s interim session was the first event held in physical presence of degree recipients, the guests and invitees at the institute since the lockdown two years ago.

Months after the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay became the first major institute to scrap face-to-face lectures this year amid the novel coronavirus pandemic, it held its 58th convocation in "virtual reality mode" on Sunday.

The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) held the interim session of its 58th Convocation and awarded degrees to 192 students.

The institute conferred an honorary doctoral degree to Infosys Co-Founder and Chairman Nandan Nilekani who is also an alumnus of IIT Bombay.

Union HRD Minister underlined the important role of IITs in establishing India as the world leader in education in the next five years.

The function was presided by Dilip Shanghvi, Chairman of the Board of Governors, IIT Bombay and Prof. Devang V. Khakhar, Director, IIT Bombay among others.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the convocation ceremony at IIT Bombay.

The IIT Bombay has placed an order for 3,500 convocation robes made of khadi cotton, inculcating the feeling of nationalism in the students.

Speaking at the golden jubilee convocation address at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay yesterday, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that "We are placing limits on opportunities for our youth" through the high cut-offs for college admissions.
