India Active Volcano

Thiruvananthapuram district is ''sitting on an active volcano'' with rising number of COVID-19 cases and there was no guarantee that there would be no community spread, tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran said in Thiruvananthaouram on Sunday.

When India's only active volcano, located in the Andaman Islands, erupted in January, it made headlines. Now, the Coast Guard has presented footage of steam, smoke and some red lava that spewed from the volcano at Barren Island, some 140 kilometres north east of Port Blair.

India's only live volcano in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands which had started showing activity in the year 1991 after being dormant for over 150 years has once again started spewing ash, the researchers at Goa based National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) said on Friday.

"I am a huge fan of Kareena. She is one of those hidden volcanoes and it (referring to her talent) has come in between in few films. She is today's actress. She is not that drama kind of person. She is intelligent. She is active and fully aware of everything around. She is casual and at times not intellectual," said Balki
