A powerful earthquake of 7.5 magnitude centred in Afghanistan, has killed over 215 people, including 12 Afghan schoolgirls who were crushed in a stampede as they tried to flee their collapsing school. At least 152 people, including eight children, have died in Pakistan and over thousand are reported injured.

Indian soldiers in helicopters and driving heavy road clearing equipment scrambled on Wednesday to reach a hydroelectric project in northeast India where at least a dozen people died and 40 others were missing after a powerful earthquake.

26 people have died in India as a result of the earthquake that shook Sikkim last evening. Another 12 people have been killed in Nepal and Tibet. The earthquake that measured 6.8 on the Richer scale was centred on the Sikkim-Nepal border. One of the reasons why it resulted in so much damage is because it occurred at just 10 kilometres below the ear...
