A foreign chartered aircraft flying from Muscat was detained overnight by authorities in Jaipur but was released today after authorities questioned the pilot. It had deviated from its flight path and flew over the high-security Indian Air Force (IAF) combat base in Jodhpur.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) lost 33 combat jets in the last four years, 27 of them MiGs of various variants, parliament was informed on Monday. Ten helicopters also crashed during this period. Twenty-six defence personnel, including 13 pilots, lost their lives in these crashes, Defence Minister A.K. Antony told the Lok Sabha during question hour.
