Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to France marks a significant moment in bilateral relations as India plans to buy 26 Rafale M (Marine) fighter jets and three Scorpene class submarines.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday alluded to the meaning of Rafale to explain how the multi-role fighter jets purchased from France will strengthen the Indian Air Force and improve bilateral relations in the decades to come.

Apart from MoU on Mutual Recognition of Academic Qualifications between India and France, 15 MoUs between various institutions of India and France in the areas of Higher Education, Research, Innovation, Faculty exchange, Scientific Cooperation were exchanged.
