The Indian Meteorological department today issued an orange alert for all the coastal districts and Malnad region in Karnataka, predicting heavy rains in the next 24 hours.

The water level of the Yamuna in Delhi dropped below the danger mark of 205.33 metres today morning and is expected to recede further, albeit slowly as heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in the upper catchment areas in H.P. and Uttarakhand.

The Orange Alert has been issued for heavy rain in Jharkhand and Odisha today and in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand today and tomorrow.

The torrential rains have wreaked havoc on Himachal Pradesh, leading to waterlogging, flash floods, and landslides, affecting people across the state.
