Indian Prisoner Dies In Pakistan

Six Indian prisoners, who completed their jail terms, died in Pakistan in the last nine months and India has raised the "alarming" issue with Islamabad, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday.

The body of Indian prisoner Kirpal Singh, who died under mysterious circumstances in Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore, was cremated at his native place Mustafabad in Saida village near Gurdaspur today.

Pakistan has handed over the body of prisoner Kirpal Singh to India, but his vital organs, including the heart and stomach, have been removed for forensic tests. The tests are being carried out at Lahore's Jinnah Hospital.
