Indians Stranded In Libya

17 Indian nationals from Punjab and Haryana, who were being held captive by an armed group in Zwara City in Libya after being trafficked from India, were on Sunday successfully evacuated to India, sources said.

The Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities (NCM), Iqbal Singh Lalpura on Sunday said that Indians stranded in Libya have been evacuated by the NCM with the help of the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian Embassy in Tunisia.

Kerala Government has asked the Centre to take urgent steps to secure the release of 18 Malayalee nurses stranded in Libya and also five Indian fishermen, including one from Kerala, held captive in Iran.
