India and US are working in a "constructive way" for a climate deal that is comfortable to both, a top American official has said, as negotiators from 195 nations today race to secure a blueprint that will form the base of the most complex global accord ever attempted.

US President Barack Obama is buoyed up by the commitments made by countries that account for 90 per cent of the world's greenhouse-gas emissions and hopeful of a comprehensive agreement on climate change in the upcoming Paris Summit, the White House has said.

India and the US broke the logjams that had been proving a hurdle on the implementation of the civil-nuclear deal signed in 2009. The ball is now in the court of the companies that are expected to fructify it. Significant agreements were also made on several other fronts, including the defence, economic ties, climate change and renewable energy.
