With various film bodies imposing a ban on Pakistan actors after the Uri attack, government on Tuesday said people-to-people contact would continue and there was no plan to stop it.

India-Pakistan relations should move beyond "VIP diplomacy" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan Premier Nawaz Sharif and be carried forward to people to people contact, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury said today.

Television artists from India and Pakistan are now collaborating on co-productions for a series of TV serials aimed at building people to people relations on both sides of the border.

"Imran Khan was contacted but he is so busy with his political commitments that he said it won't be possible for him to watch the Indo-Pak series. Majid Khan is also not coming due to health issues. But the likes of Hanif Mohammed and Zaheer Abbas are certain to attend the matches," PCB spokesperson Nadeem Sarwar told PTI during an interaction.

Regular contact between India and Pakistan could improve the standard of hockey on both sides.
