Moderate Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today welcomed the resumption of talks between India and Pakistan on all issues including Kashmir, saying dialogue is the "most effective way" of resolution of contending issues.

With India calling off Foreign Secretary level talks with Pakistan, uncertainty now looms large over resumption of trade dialogue between the two countries.

The US can "just encourage" India and Pakistan to resume their stalled composite dialogue but it "cannot dictate solutions," said Hillary.

Seeking resumption of the composite dialogue process with India, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has said such a move is in the best interest of the region.
