Surat has been adjudged as the best in Integrated Mass Transit, while Dharwad-Hubli (Karnataka) has the best city bus service, the Union Urban Development Ministry on Thursday said as it announced the names of cities for their commendable initiatives towards promotion of public transport, non-motorised transport and road safety.

The goal is to integrate the on-demand ride service into the transportation network, get cars off the road and induce people to use mass transit.
