Lebanon-based armed group Hezbollah launched hundreds of rockets and drones at Israel today after Israel's military said it initiated pre-emptive strikes on targets in Lebanon.

In a speech to the United States Congress last month, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu envisioned a new regional coalition in the Middle East, termed the "Abraham Alliance".

At least five people were killed Saturday, four of them from the same family, in an Israeli strike on a house in southern Lebanon, the country's official National News Agency reported.
