A leading state-run Israeli defence company has said it has signed a USD 777 million contract with India for the supply of Barak 8 long-range surface-to-air defence missiles and missile defence systems for the Indian Navy, media reports in Jerusalem said.

Indian Naval Ships Trishul, Mumbai and Aditya, which were involved in an anti-piracy operation in the Gulf of Aden, reached Haifa in Israel on Thursday and will engage with the Israeli Navy in a series of activities.

The Israeli military has conducted another successful test of the Barak-8 missile, jointly developed with India, as it intercepted a small drone simulating an "enemy" target, defence sources in Jerusalem said.
