Meira Kumar's office sent out a strong rebuttal late last night following reports that the Lok Sabha Speaker has access to another sprawling bungalow apart from the one she has been allotted in the heart of the national capital.

The government has waived almost Rs 2 crore, allegedly owed by Speaker Meira Kumar for use of her father Jagjivan's Ram residence in Delhi.

The Central Information Commissioner (CIC) will today hear a case on the allotment status of house number 6, Krishna Menon Marg in New Delhi, which was the residence of senior Congress leader Babu Jagjivan Ram till he died in 1986 and was later allotted to his daughter, Speaker Meira Kumar when she was appointed a Union Minister in 2004.
