Sunil James, a Merchant Navy Captain who was released yesterday from a jail in Togo, western Africa, has reached Mumbai. Thanking the Indian community in Togo and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for support and help, he said whatever had happened was "in the past."

Sunil James, a Merchant Navy Captain who was released yesterday from a jail in Togo, western Africa, has reached Mumbai. His family has been waiting for him to perform the last rites of his baby son Vivaan, who died on December 2.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today asked his officials to coordinate efforts to free Mumbai sailor Sunil James, who is jailed in Togo in western Africa. This was after his family met Dr Singh and asked him for help to bring him back to India for the last rites of his 11-month-old son.
