Jamia Student Suicide

Bodies of two Delhi University students were found inside a flat in southeast Delhi's Jamia Nagar, police said on Sunday.

A 22-year-old student of Jamia Millia Islamia University allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his rented accommodation in southeast Delhi's Okhla Vihar on Monday, police said.

Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Smriti Irani today did not go to an Urdu conference at Delhi University which she was scheduled to inaugurate, raising questions whether she skipped it as hundreds of students had gathered outside the venue protesting over the Rohith Vemula issue.
