Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today gave his nod for the formation of a 10-member panel to study jammer technologies across the globe so that they can be deployed in Delhi jails to completely disable mobile signals, officials said.

Prison authorities informed the Delhi High Court on Tuesday that mobile signals, especially of Jio 4G, could not be blocked inside Tihar Jail with the technology they have and state-run C-DOT has been asked to develop a prototype jammer to prevent illegal communications by prisoners.

The UK is set to use sophisticated drone-jamming technology at major public and sporting events for detecting, tracking and disrupting the controls of any rogue unmanned aerial vehicles flown remotely by terrorists as airborne weapons.
