Japan will simplify its visa rules from January 1 next year for Indians and issue multiple-entry-visa for short-term stay, a move which is expected to benefit tourists and business persons as well as repeat visitors, the Japanese embassy said today.

The new system for issuance of green cards in Japan will be introduced from April, Press Trust of India quoted a spokesperson of Japan External Trade Organisation as saying.

Japan is set to relax visa norms for Indian nationals as multiple-entry visa terms are to be doubled for people from the country to 10 years, Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida said today.
