The JD(U) on Thursday attacked the Centre and the BJP administration in Manipur asserting that the northeastern state is burning for more than two months even though it has a double-engine government.

Five Janata Dal (United) MLAs, who merged with the ruling party BJP, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of party President JP Nadda in the national capital on Sunday.

Alleging horse-trading in the merger of Janta Dal United Members of Legislative Assembly(MLAs) into BJP in Manipur, Janata Dal (United) (JDU) chief Rajiv Ranjan Lalan Singh said on Saturday that the merger was done by BJP using money power.

BJP MP and Nitish Kumar's former deputy Sushil Kumar Modi says JDU will collapse in Bihar as well. On its national prospects, he adds, "Posters and hoardings do not make anyone the Prime Minister."

The JD(U) candidate is not new to adversity. In 2016, she resigned from service citing discrimination and suspicion for being the daughter-in-law of RK Meghen -the leader of a banned militant group.
