Assam Congress Says No To Grand Alliance Ahead Of Assembly Elections

The success of the JD(U), RJD and Congress led Mahagathbandhan or Grand Alliance in Bihar has failed to impress the Congress's party's Assam unit. Ahead of the assembly polls later this year, state leaders have decided not to forge a pre-poll alliance with any party.

Dismissing the formation of a Samajwadi Party led third front in Bihar, the ruling Janata Dal (United) or the JD(U), has said that there is 'only one front' in the state, which is the grand alliance formed by their party in alliance with Lalu Prasad's Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress.
