Jharkhand Women Accused of Witchcraft Were Killed After Open Court in Village: Police

A day after five women were killed in a Jharkhand village on allegations of witchcraft, the Jharkhand police have formally arrested 25 people, all from the same village and charged them under sections of state's anti-witch craft law that could lead to nine years of imprisonment.

Five persons lynched for extortion in Jharkhand

Five men of an alleged extortion gang were lynched by villagers in Jharkhan'd Khunti district. Superintendent of Police Amarnath Mishra, quoting villagers, said the five men were cornered by villagers and beaten to death with sharp weapons and stones.
