Couple accuses hospital of exchanging new-born boy with girl

A woman, Alisha, who gave birth to a child in a government hospital, has accused the hospital staff of allegedly exchanging her newborn boy with a baby girl, family sources said. The woman claimed that the Kanwatia Hospital authorities exchanged the baby boy delivered by her with that of a female child last night.

In the nursery for new-borns at Jodhpur's Umaid Hospital lies a baby girl who is seven days old. Her biological mother, who is in the women's general ward does not see her, or feed her. She remains un-named. She was born a healthy baby. Her shortcoming is that she is not a boy.

A seven-day-old healthy baby girl has been waiting in a Jodhpur Hospital to go home. Only no one wants her. Two sets of parents are squabbling instead to claim a baby boy born at the same time. A DNA test will now settle whose child she is.
