Lodha panel was formed in January 2015 in the wake of the Justice Mukul Mudgal Committee report that called for reforms within the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The constitution has been finalised by the Committee of Administrators in accordance with the recommendations of the Justice Lodha Committee and the directions of the Supreme Court.

The top court had also removed most of the former BCCI office-bearers since they did not meet the qualifying standards set by the Justice Lodha Committee, set up to remove corruption and associated malpractices from the BCCI.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the three member committee of former Chief Justice of India RM Lodha, former Justices Ashok Bhan and RV Raveendran in New Delhi.

Supreme Court, which ordered the sacking of BCCI president Anurag Thakur and secretary Ajay Shirke, said that all the recommendations of the Lodha panel must be implemented in toto. The verdict in the BCCI versus Lodha Committee came after months of a bitter court battle.
