Madras High Court has called on Tamil Nadu government on its opposition to National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The High Court Justice N Kirubakaran asked the government representative if they were not ashamed of opposing NEET and asked if the government underestimates the prowess of students in Tamil Nadu.

An educational trust in Tiruchirappalli district has come in for criticism from the Madras High Court for encroaching the State Highways road for parking vehicles and filing a civil suit in the lower court, suppressing the High Court's eviction order.

Allow Castration of Child Rapists, Madras High Court Tells Centre

The Centre has been asked to consider castration as punishment for child abusers and rapists, in a strongly-worded judgement by the Madras High Court. "The court cannot be a silent spectator, unmoved and oblivious of the horrible blood curdling gang-rapes of children in various parts of India," the court said.
