The Rajya Sabha today passed by voice vote the Juvenile Justice Bill, amending the law to try 16 year olds accused of serious crimes such as rape and murder, as adults. The Lok Sabha has already passed the bill, which will now be sent to the President for ratification.

A cab driver and his accomplice, accused of rape and murder case of a 22-year-old BPO employee in Pune, were pronounced guilty of both charges by a Pune Court on Saturday. Jyoti Kumari Chowdhari, a BPO employee in a multinational company, was allegedly raped and murdered by the driver of company's pick-up car on November 1, 2007.

A CBI court today convicted a person for committing five murders in Dubai almost two ago. Special Judge R M Parmar today held Ravji Manu Pawar (53) guilty, for killing Ramesh Sagar, his mother Muliben, wife Rajori, daughter Jyoti and son Jayesh on January 4, 1992. Pawar used to work as domestic help at Sagar's house in Dubai.
