Hours after Kerala's ruling Congress-led UDF decided not to accept his resignation in connection with the bar bribery case, Congress leader K Babu today decided to withdraw his resignation as minister from the Oommen Chandy Cabinet.

With Chief Minister Oommen Chandy yet to forward his resignation to the Governor for acceptance, Excise Minister K Babu, who had quit following a court order for registration of an FIR against him in the case known as bar bribery scandal, today said he is not interested in continuing in office.

The Kerala High Court today declined a plea by the state authorities seeking a stay on a Vigilance Court order directing registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against former minister K Babu in the bar bribery case.

A day after he resigned as minister from Oommen Chandy Cabinet over bar bribery scandal, Congress leader K Babu today targeted CPI(M) leader Pinarayi Vijayan, saying the opposition leader should withdraw from his ongoing march against corruption as he is an accused in a graft case.
