Amidst mounting opposition attack over her government on handling of the northeast monsoon, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today sought to assure the people that she would stand by with them at all times and that there was no need for concern.

Aimed at stepping up the infrastructure facilities across Tamil Nadu, a series of bridges, subways and tourist bungalows constructed at a cost of Rs 365.76 crore was inaugurated by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in Chennai today.

Tamil Nadu government today appointed State Electricity Board Chairman and Additional Chief Secretary, K Gnanadesikan as the Chief Secretary replacing Mohan Varghese Chunkath.
