Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2017

China has reportedly refused entry to the first batch of some 50 pilgrims, who were supposed to travel to Kailash Mansarovar, via Nathu La in Sikkim. A massive landslide had also smashed through a mountain village in China's Sichuan province on Saturday with over 140 people feared buried.

With China refusing to open the gates to the first batch of about 50 pilgrims scheduled to travel to Kailash Mansarovar through Nathu La in Sikkim, the devotees have returned to Sherthang after waiting for a week. The second batch of pilgrims has been held up in Gangtok.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today flagged off the first batch of pilgrims bound for the annual Kailash Mansarovar yatra for this year.
